The primary application for Posca markers is the temporary marking of windows and auto body panels in the automotive collision industry. The beauty of the Posca markers is they are resistant to rain yet remove very easily with mild window cleaners such as CRC Hydroforce glass cleaner. They will are formulated to not ghost on glass or painted panels.

Posca markers are offered in three tip sizes: 5 mm, 8 mm, and 17 mm, and a variety of colors. The 5 mm tip is a bullet tip and the 8 mm and 17 mm tips are chisel tips that allow a variety of line widths by using the side or face of the tip. The 8 mm is available in fluorescent colors and is the most popular color range.

Other removable markers have been introduced recently by Genpac (the Autowriter) and Artline (12 mm Poster Marker).  The Autowrirter is available in medium tip only but has expanded the color range and has a unique cap that holds an extra acrylic tip. The Artline High Capacity 12 mm is similar to the Posca 8 mm. The main differences are it has a arched shaped tip that allows a wide variety of lines, is available in 14 colors, and contains 24 cc of paint compared to 16 cc in the Posca.
